And The Shows Keep on Flowing...

Sparta, that band made up of former At The Drive-In members that actually sounds like emo rather than their wall of sound counterparts known as The Mars Volta, are coming to 9:30 Club on November 15th. They'll be supported by Copeland, Sunshine, and Further Seems Forever (sorry teeny-boppers, Chris Carrabba ain't in that group anymore).

I started listening to The Futureheads last night and it's starting to grow on me. They have a really tight sound, kind of like The Shins meet Hot Hot Heat meet The Beach Boys. But hey, don't listen to me and my nonsensical comparisons, check it out for yourself (I'd provide a link to some sort of streaming source, but NM is much better at that than I am). What I can't understand is all the hoopla with The Fiery Furnaces. It's not bad, but I just haven't got into Blueberry Boat that much. Despite its appearance on that sidebar to the right, I'll keep trying. They're playing at Black Cat this Friday night, but due to the holiday and all, it doesn't look like I'll be able to make it. Fasting and concert-going don't mix very well.
