Indie Rock Even Comes to Albany Once in Awhile
It's been announced through Pollstar that The Walkmen will be performing at Northern Lights on Saturday, December 11. This will be a nice change of pace for the Upstate scene since it's been suffering a substantial drought of good music as of late, only with Wilco's stint at Skidmore College in October providing a slight remedy. The club's website, however, makes no mention of The Walkmen, but rather lists: Channel 103.1 presents Yule Rock featuring Cake, Riddlin Kids and the winner of the most original band contest! In another interesting twist, The Walkmen's website does not even list a show at Northern Lights that day, but rather in North Hampton, MA @ Pearl Street! Intriguing. It apparently seems that TUL cannot totally confirm The Walkmen's presence in Clifton Park unless they secretly competed in the "original band contest" under some sort of pseudonym. Ladies and gentlemen, Schenectady's new sensation, The Talkmen!
