Stockholm Syndrome Relapse!

It was just a little over four months ago that Muse last descended upon us with a high-energy performance at the 9:30 Club, but when would these British rockers return to town, you ask? Much to TUL's surprise, they'll be performing at the University of Maryland of all places. Yes, that's right, the same University of Maryland that hasn't hosted a respectable musical act in what seems like an eternity, or at least five years. Come to think of it, the last time College Park brought someone that The Upstate Life actually thought was worthwhile was all the way back in 2000 when Outkast headlined the campus' annual Art Attack showcase. Unfortunately, it went all downhill from there. It never made sense to me how College Park wound up with such pittful acts like Wyclef Jean and Fuel, yet up north sister school UMBC was attaining the likes of The Strokes! Granted, we had access to the Metro in order to get to shows at the 9:30 Club, but yet here we had the flagship campus of Maryland having Mr. Sugar Ray himself Mark McGrath up on stage yelling idiotically into the mic, "Hello, Baltimore!" Thankfully, it seems the Students Entertainment Events committee has made a step in the right direction by having Muse perform as part of MTVU's Campus Invasion at the historic Cole Field House. The show will be held Saturday, April 16th with tickets costing a modest $15 for general public and $10 for students. Tickets go on sale this coming Monday, March 14th at the Stamp Student Union ticket office. I'm still debating whether to attend or not as, unlike the 9:30 Club, I don't think they've installed a bar into Cole as of yet.
