Fundraisers, It's The New Gangbang
If you're a decent person trying to raise money in order to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina, be sure not to do it in College Park.
Senior Brady Nolan's Hurricane Katrina relief party last Thursday seemed to be a phenomenal success. It was only 8:15 p.m., and there was already $1,000 in donations from the crowd in the backyard having a great time as a band played.
That was, until the police came and gave Nolan a $500 citation for a noise violation.
After the party was broken up, Nolan and his friends decided to try again, and moved the party to another house on Guilford Road.
About 30 minutes later, the same police officer showed up, and wrote Nolan another $500 citation.
Oh yeah, apparently this happened just two nights later. Don't you know that noisy fundraisers for good causes are clearly more dangerous than armed criminals? Silly.
