How Desperate Was TUL for a Parking Spot in NYC This Past Weekend?

a) Drive around for at least 40 minutes in the rain trying to find a spot that a) wasn't a meter that would have to be fed at 8am the next morning, and b) wasn't in a garage.
b) Wait five minutes for a guy about to leave his spot on a one-way street while leaving just enough room for the thirty or so taxis to squeak by us
c) Offer to help jumpstart the stranger's car in the rain after said car failed to start (oh, it gets better)
d) Use two jumper cables instead of one and clamp them together in order to reach each other's battery terminals, IN THE RAIN. Despite the high risk that was involved, electrocution was the last thing on my mind at the time. No way in hell we're paying $37 for a garage.
e) Car still fails to start, alternator seems to be dead. It appears to be a Ford so we're not completely shocked.
f) Car on opposite side of street leaves, TUL asks stranger's friend to stand in the spot so TUL can claim it
g) TUL parallel parks on left side of street. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
h) TUL vows to never park in NYC again though somehow believes it's still not as bad as Adams Morgan and/or Dupont.
