There's something about Porter Street that truly amazes me. No, it's not the proximity to the gargantuan Quebec House and its parking lot full of more out of state license plates than dollars in my own wallet. It's the fact that it's one of the lone streets in the entire District that isn't zoned. Why is that? Are there any other streets in DC that are unzoned? It's a mystery that truly intrigues The Upstate Life, more than the claim that Palena carries a good burger (and in case you're wondering, it doesn't, trust me).
