TUL's Take: Editors @ 9:30 Club

Nobody loves the DC humidity more than The Upstate Life. The fact that we were able to profusely sweat just by walking a couple of blocks from our parked car to the 9:30 Club last night is evidence enough we're in the midst of your typical Washington summer. Inside the club didn't help matters much as it was maybe a few degrees cooler for what appeared to be a near-capacity crowd at hand.

We arrived half an hour before Editors' set so unfortunately missed Cedars and Lake Trout. TUL has heard nothing but praises regarding the former, so we'll try to catch them live one of these days. Ice cream, unfortunately, took precedence that humid night. I'll go out of my way and say that I wasn't a huge fan of Editors' album. Thought it was good, not great. Their live show, however, completely exceeded my expectations. These guys sounded terrific live and won me over. All of their songs really translated well up on stage and it's something bands like Interpol should take note of. Also, whoever their light guy was did a hell of a job last night. Definitely one of the best accompanying light shows I've seen at the 9:30. Couldn't find a setlist, but hopefully someone over on the forum will post it.
