1 BBQ Joint Down, So Many More to Go
So thanks in part to one of our Kansas-native friends (and not any of you), The Upstate Life was able to enjoy some authentic KC BBQ at Gate's for lunch today. They're known for their intimidation-factor when ordering so I let one of my co-workers go first since I was 95% confident I would fuck up my simple beef and bun plate request. Their sauce had more of a vinegar tinge to it and was a little less thick than the BBQ I had in Austin a few months ago, but it was still pretty damn tasty. There's a bunch of places TUL still has to conquer during our week-long tenure in Kansas City, but you can entrust us to skip the Cheesecake Factory, Houston's, and P.F. Changs that are so conveniently located next to our hotel. I mean, c'mon, we're not WaPo Best Bets voters or anything.
