Cold War Kids Move Up the Venue Ladder
While Robbers & Cowards, Cold War Kids' first full-length, just missed the cut of The Upstate Life's Top 10 Albums of 2006 (they were at #11), the band has just announced a spring tour that will mark their third-ever appearance in the District. Where, you might ask? No, not the Black Cat backstage. A return to DC9, maybe? Wrong again. In a somewhat surprising move, the band will be performing at the 9:30 Club on Wednesday, March 28. Yeah, we were kind of shocked about this too. I mean, a headlining gig at the mainstage of the Black Cat sounds a bit more realistic in my honest opinion. We'll see what happens, but the 9:30 seems a tad large for a band that didn't even sellout DC9 last time they were in town. But yeah, who are we kidding? We'll still go anyway.
