TUL's Take: Scissor Sisters @ 9:30 Club

Thanks in part to a fellow fan we were able to secure ourselves two tickets to last night's sold out Scissor Sisters show an hour before the doors opened. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews of their live act, but after yesterday, I could see why. They put on one hell of a fun show. The crowd was also one of the most enthusiastic I've ever experienced at a DC concert which further enhanced our first-ever SS experience. While the sound mix was muddy at times (way too bassy during the first few songs), the lighting and visuals were very impressive. The band's stage presence alone was unparallel to the majority of artists I've witnessed live, so that says a lot. It's so over the top yet so entertaining that the feeling of euphoria from the audience was near-contagious. The band really caught me off-guard with how good this show turned out to be. Definitely one of my better last-minute decisions to attend a concert like this one.
