DJ Drafted!
I have to admit, by the time the draft was down to selecting pick #55, I was getting pretty nervous. DJ Strawberry's name was yet to be called and there was barely anyone left in the crowd at MSG Theatre, but when pick #59 came up, the Maryland shooting guard was selected by the Phoenix Suns. In my opinion, a hard-nosed player like Strawberry is a perfect fit for a defensive-deprived team like the Suns. He'll have plenty of competition in order to make the roster, but his defensive talents are what set him apart from other players competing for a spot. He could be a nice backup to Raja Bell which coincidentally DJ has compared his style of play to. Anyway, it's been a long four years since Steve Blake got picked up back in '03, so it's good to see that DJ's hard work these last four seasons have earned him a shot in the pros.
