DC Stand Up
The Upstate Life is back and actually has some newsworthy buzz to deliver after a nice long weekend. It appears that Diplo, the DJ who fused MIA with his Hollertronix beats on the highly praised Piracy Funds Terrorism Volume 1 Mixtape, will be backing the Sri Lankan rapper at her 9:30 Club show on the turntables Sunday, June 12th. What is more important to note, thanks to Pollstar of course, is that Diplo himself will be spinning at Dragonfly later that night for what The Upstate Life assumes to be a MIA/LCD Soundsystem afterparty. Although I honestly have no idea where Dragonfly is nor how much doors will cost, I can say that tickets are still amazingly available for the double bill at the 9:30, so you best hurry before we have ourselves another not so surprising sellout. It's the easiest way to avoid any sort of kvetching come showtime.
