Sufjan Stevens Ticket Details Revealed!
A little over a month ago, The Upstate Life broke the news that Sufjan Stevens would be performing at the Kennedy Center on February 5th for the cost of, well, nothing. Ticket details were unfortunately sketchy at the time which left many a fan wondering when they could see the man who would eventually write an album about some other state besides Michigan and Illinois. Today, however, is another story. We checked out Mr. Stevens' website this afternoon and were delighted to read that tickets will be distributed on Saturday, January 27th in the Hall of Nations of the Kennedy Center between 9am and 10am.
The Millennium Stage 10th Anniversary Celebration is a free, ticketed event. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis with a LIMIT OF TWO TICKETS PER PERSON on SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 2007.
9 am-10 am, tickets for SUFJAN STEVENS (members of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra) will be distributed in the HALL OF NATIONS (line forms to left of entrance). 10-11 a.m., tickets for the NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will be distributed in the HALL OF STATES (line forms to right of entrance). 11 a.m.-noon, tickets for the ALVIN AILEY will be distributed in the HALL OF NATIONS (line forms to right of entrance).
Any tickets not distributed will be available at the Box Office beginning at 12 noon.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no late seating for performances. There will be a live broadcast in the Grand Foyer of each performance for patrons who are unable to be here on the day of the ticket give-away, for those who arrive late, or for those who don't have a ticket.
While I'm all for free concerts involving artists I'd like to see, getting up before 9am on a Saturday for tickets is a bit of a challenge for The Upstate Life. I mean, maybe if it was at noon or something, and like, accessible over the Internet, then perhaps we could swing it. On second thought, I just realized how sad that sounded.
