Virgin Fest Confirmed by Elliot in the Morning, Free Admission?
While driving to work, I flipped over to DC101 during a Junkies commercial break where Elliot was plugging the Judas Priest show at Merriweather on August 22 on which he proceeded to ask, "Isn't that a week before Virgin Fest?" Elliot then mentioned Weezer and Blink as being part of the lineup, pretty much cementing the fact that these two artists will be part of the festival. But perhaps the most interesting part was when he said that Virgin Fest could be FREE this year. He then proceeded to backtrack saying how cool it would be if it was free, but still, was this some sort of slip? I personally can't see Virgin Fest allowing free admission, but hey, if Ozzfest did it back in '07, and given the relatively rough economy, it is certainly possible. All we do know is that Virgin Fest is back on, and although it's at Merriweather, it at least lives on for another year.
